Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday Gift Card holder

Happy Tuesday!!! It's Project Tuesday time!!!

This week's project is a really neat one! It is a gift card holder! It is super simple to make and presents a gift card in a very elegant way!

To make my gift card holder, I used SU designer, and PTI Wishing You stamp set. I did my holder a little different, as I didn't make a slider to hold the cover closed. I have my cover just going under the ribbon on the front of the holder.

The inside, I stamped the beautifully tulip from PTI Wishing You stamp set. I really like how this project turned out!

Be sure to hop on over to Stamps and Smiles and play along with us this week. Make sure you link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all see what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Fun Fall Monday!

Happy Monday everyone! Wow, we have had some super weather the past few days!
With the coolness in the air, and me attending a couple of craft fairs this weekend....I really have gotten in the fall mood!

So...I decided to pull out my fantastic Singer sewing machine and make a few Halloween pillows to put in my living room.

Here are the two pillows I made this weekend...the one in the back is really a cute pillow..it's a bit hard to see..but I have 4 buttons on each corner and I did a little decorative stitching from my sewing machine..

This picture shows a close up of the stitching....

The pillow in front, the SPOOKY pillow was super easy to do! I machine embroidered the words SPOOKY on the front and then found a little spider button to sew on.

I hope you enjoyed looking and I am off to create some more Halloween goodies to put around my house....my head is spinning with ideas from the craft fairs!

Have a wonderful day!

Aren't those little bunnies toooo cute! I thought they looked perfect for going back to school!

Besure and hope on over to Stamps and Smiles and check out the DT cards for this week! They are super! and if you decide to play along, make sure you link your card up to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!

OCC Challenge sympathy card

Today I have a card for the Our Creative Corner challenge....

The challenge a this week was to use one or more of the new colors from SU! Well, so far I have only purchased one of the colors....Bermuda Bay..so that's what I used! The stamp flower stem image is from PTI Floral Frenzy as well as the sentiment.

I crocheted the little flower, I went to Michaels and matched up the SU cardstock to the embroidery floss. If you look real close, you can see the decorative stitching I used from my sewing machine, along the designer paper and the gold cardstock...I think it is a smocking stitch. I used the scallop border punch from SU and the Designer paper is also from SU.

And those little dew drops....I colored to match my paper with my Copics!

Thanks for looking today, and have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles

Happy Tuesday! This week's project at Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday is a really fun box!

Since the weather has been so nice this weekend, it really put me in the fall mood!!! I decided to make my box into a Halloween treat box. I used PTI Plum Pudding card stock and SU Pumpkin card stock.

I stamped the purple card stock with some spider webs and spiders, and added the Spooky Sweets sentiment from PTI. That cute little spider, I cut on my Cricut using the Doodlecharms cart....

I filled my box with candy corn and peanuts..I don't remember what this mix is called....but it taste like a Payday candy bar. Really yummy! I tied the whole thing up using black ribbon. The project directions actually called for a round hole in the front, but I decided a square would be much easier for me to do...so I changed it up a bit...

I think I will make a few more of these to hand out to some of my clients around Halloween...since it turned out so cute!

Be sure to hop on over to the Stamps and Smiles site and check out the DT samples..they are really super this week! Be sure to play along and link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all see what you have created!!!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Recipe Challenge - Flower Power

Happy Sunday friends....it is just beautiful in St. Louis today. The temp is 57 degrees as I am writing this!

We have had a very busy weekend, but I wanted to squeeze in my recipe page for the The Recipe Challenge Blog today.

This week the challenge was to use flowers on your recipe page!

Every week, I have been taking the recipes that I have written down on scrap pieces of paper and turning them into these beautiful recipe pages, that I will be combining into a recipe book.

This recipe I was able to get from a local restaurant a few years ago. My husband and I loved their Artichoke Spinach Dip, and I just had to have the recipe. My daughter knew the cook, and asked him for the recipe, he gave it to us alright...but he gave it to us in the gallon size directions! The way he makes it at the restaurant! So I sized it way down into this recipe, and I have to say....it really is good...give it a try!

This weekly challenge is helping me get organized! I just love it. If you are like me and need to get your recipes organized, jump on over to their site and join in on the fun!!!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!

Stamps and Smiles Challenge 29

Happy Thursday everyone! I can't believe it's Thursday already!!!!! The weeks are just flying by....

Well, since it is Thursday, that means it time for a new sketch challenge at Stamps and Smiles

This week, I really needed a birthday card for a little boy! So Carl the Cupcake was a easy choice!

I used PTI's Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy card stock and used my cuttlebug to emboss the swiss dots on the white cardstock. I colored Carl with my Copics, of course! And the balloons were colored with Copics and then I added Crystal Effects from SU to make them shine!!!
Be sure to jump on over to Stamps and Smiles and play along with us this week, be sure to link up your card to Mr. Linky....we would love to see what you come up with!
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Christmas Cricut card

Happy Wednesday friends...I have been playing around with my Cricut this week and put together this card....I scraplifted the idea from someone, sorry, I can't remember who it was..they did a similar layout using stamps. I thought that would work perfect with the cricut!

I used the Wild Card cart for the round ornament and Joys of the Season for the fancy ornament. I stamped both ornaments with stamps from PTI, the round one with Damask Designs and the fancy one with Fancy Flourishes. I also stamped the word Joy and the sentiment from a PTI set.

I used PTI Pure Poppy card stock, Ripe Avocado and PTI Vintage Christmas designer paper released last year for the bottom half of the top note diecut from SU.

I like this card, I just may have to mass produce for my Christmas cards this year....what do you think?

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Hi friends....it's Tuesday so it must be Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles!

The project this week, I will use over and over! It is a card that holds a gift card! I give gift cards a lot, and I really like this as a nice way to present a gift card.
The front looks just like a regular card, for this project I used PTI Lemon Tart paper and PTI Designer paper. The stamp image is from PTI Everyday Button Bits. The ribbon is also from PTI and those little dew drops again, I colored with my Copics.....

This is the inside...

Neat, right? I love how the gift card slides up as you open the card!!!!

OCC challenge

Hi friends...I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Mine has been a bit busy..but I managed to squeeze in a card for Our Creative Corner Christmas in August challenge...

I pulled out this really sweet set from a new stamp designer Claire Brennon at Waltzingmouse makes. These were released a few months ago, so when I saw them...I just had to have them.....

I have a Cookie Exchange Party every year at Christmas, and I have been looking for a gingerbread man stamp that I like for many years....and I have finally found one!

For this card, I used PTI Pure Poppy and Avocado Green cardstock, PTI ribbon and Waltzingmouse stamps. I stamped my own designer paper with the little gingerbread men in the stamp set, the little vest on the gingerbread man, I stamped and cut out and added 2 brads for the buttons.....I am telling you, this is just the sweetest set ever!!!!

Well, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday! Hope you all do too!

Thanks for looking!!

Recipe Challenge

Hi there....Happy Friday! I am taking a vacation day!!!! Yeah for me!

Here is my recipe card for the challenge over at Recipe challenge blog. This week the challenge was to create a recipe page with the theme The Great Camp Out!

Now, camping is just not my thing! But I do like to eat the fried fish my husbands catches when we stay at a resort...and I am having a fun time at the SPA while he fishes...

This batter recipe is one of the best I have ever had! We have used it on Catfish, Cod and even Shark.

If you haven't see the recipe challenge blog, make sure you jump on over and check out the other great recipes!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day

2nd post today! Peach Keen Stamp Challenge

I have been sooo busy this week creating cards!!! I wanted to make sure I get this one posted for the Peachy Keen stamp challenge

This little card turned out sooo cute! I don't think this picture reflects how cute it is...Those little bees are just darling and so easy to color! You may notice I used Crystal Effects from SU on the wings to give them a little translucent look.

I used Barely Banana cardstock from SU, and stamped the bottom half of the card with PTI Backround Basics stamps set.

The little dew drops are the ones I purchased that are clear, and colored those with my Copics....

We have a lot of birthdays coming up in September, so you will be seeing many birthday cards from me..this one I think I will send to my daughter who is turning 27 this year! I'm not old enough to have a daughter who is 27! I am only 35! Ha, ha!

Oh, I also wanted to post another card I made this morning on my Cricut. Since my son has gone back to school, we are getting up at 6AM, so this leaves me a some extra time in the morning to create after he leaves and I start my day...

This card was made using the cart Stretch your imagination. I shadowed the card using my chalks and added a little sparkle on the bubbles, not sure if you can see that.

I am going to send this card to my grandson Coy, his mom purchased him a little turtle a few weeks ago, and I want to send him a card wishing him well on his first day of school.

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for looking!

Stamps and Smiles Challenge 28

Happy Thursday friends!!!

Here is my card for the Stamps and Smiles sketch challenge!

This week the sketch challenge is really sweet! Thanks Dalis for such cute sketches!!!

I'm not sure who this paper is from, I have been on a mission lately to use up the paper in my scrap box..

The flower I made with my Cricut! I am loving that machine!!!

The stamp set is "Hello Spring" and I used the flowers in Cuppy's hand from the "Egg Hunt" set.

I used some glitter in Cuppy's hair (icing) and added stickles to her bow and flower centers.

The little dew drops....I colored those myself...I purchased this really big bag of clear drops at Michaels, and I have been using my Copics to color them. I wasn't sure how they would turn out, but it really did work! One more reason to LOVE my Copics!

The big bag of drops cost only 5.98 and I used my 40% coupon..so it ended up being 3.58 for about 10000 drops. I don't know if that amount is correct or not...but it is a really big bag!

If you do go to Michaels to look for these, they are not in the scrapbooking section, they are over by the floral section with the little pebbles and such.

Be sure to stop by the Stamps and Smiles site and post your card with Mr. Linky so we can take a look at your creations!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Cricut Wednesday!

Well, since I don't have any DT commitments for Wednesday's.....I thought I would make Wednesday my Cricut day!

So...since today is "Back to School" in my neck of the woods....I wanted to make my grandsons each a back pack tag.

My son is starting high school this year...he didn't want one....I just can't image why!

My 2 little grandsons that live closest to me are starting school today. Brody is starting Preschool and Nolan is starting Kindergarten.

I used the Doodle Charms cart for the back pack and the apples and the Sans Serif for the letters.

I used my handy dandy SU wheel roller with the Alphabet wheel to make the paper on the bottom.

I shaded the back packs and the apples with some chalk..I tried ink..but I really didn't like the way they looked.

I sure hope my boys have a wonderful first day of school!!!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

It Project Tuesday Time!!!

Hi friends...can you believe it's the 2nd Tuesday in August!!!

Where did the summer go? My son goes back to school tomorrow!

Christmas will be here before you know it! Did you see my little counter on the side bar?
Makes me worry everytime I look at it!!!!

This week at Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday we are making the super cute Hanging Treat Box!!!!

I modified the pattern just a bit, to make it a little larger so it would hold a microwave popcorn package...I just love salty popcorn and a Coke!

I know, all I had today at home was a Mountain Dew bottle for my husband....I think it would look much better with a Coke!

I think this would be a great gift or prize to give out at a birthday party or get together of friends....or leave for the babysitter...so she has a treat while she is sitting for you!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the project this week, make sure you hop on over to Project Tueday and link up your project with Mr. Linky we would love to see what you have made, and while you are there, take a look at all the super projects the DT made! They are awsome!!!

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Our Creative Corner Inspirational Challenge

Happy Monday friends!

This week at Our Creative Corner the challenge is an inspirational one!

Here's the inspiration.....looks like a lot of fall colors! My favorite time of the year!!!

Here's my card.....I just love this bike stamp...I picked it up at Hobby Lobby a few months ago...and I have been wanting to use it for quite some time...this seemed like the perfect card inspiration for it! I am making this card for my sister-in-law's birthday that is coming up in September...She loves vintage looking things...and I think this looks a bit vintage.

I decided to go very simple with this card...The paper is from Bo Bunny and Cosmo Cricket that I have had in my stash for a while...both the button and ribbon are from PTI.

I am really trying to use up items in my stash..seems like it has overtaken my craftroom. If I am going to get some of the new items that are coming out for fall, I will need to clear up some room!

Thanks for looking and have a great Monday!!!

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge#7

Hi Friends, today is Saturday...and I am off busy with my grandchildren. But I wanted to post my card for the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge for this week!

The challenge was to use the color purple, a zig zag and a pumpkin!

I used the image I received from Sonia in the SNR Universe image swap, this little ghost is sooo cute!!!! I just love him!
I used some paper I had in my scraps, so I don't know who it's from..and my new Martha Stewart Gooey Goo punch! I looked all over last year for that punch..and I found it at Michaels last week!
The sentiment is from PTI, do you notice the little eyes I added to the "OO's". Kind of korny..but what the heck, it's a halloween card!
I'm off to enjoy the day with my grandchildren...Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for taking the time to look at my creation!

Recipe Challenge #2

Hi everyone!!! Its Friday!!!I am so happy its Friday!!!

I am off to pick up my grandchildren Brooke, 2 and Coy 6...to spend the entire weekend with me!

So I won't be blogging much over the weekend...I will be swimming and having fun!

Here is my 2nd recipe card for the Recipe Challenge over at

The challenge this week was Strawberry Lemonade...Since my goal with this challenge blog is to organize and get my recipes into a book...I wanted to use a recipe I have just laying around on a scrap piece of paper....and not try to come up with a recipe to fit the challenge....so the closest I could come was this Frosty Lemon Chiffon Pie.
This is a super good pie! A few years ago, some of my friends and I decided to do the "cooking once for a month" program...where we each put together 12-15 meals in one day and froze them. This pie was a recipe from that event. The pie does freeze very well..if anyone is interested in doing that...but it doesn't last long enough at my house to make it to the freezer!

Since I found this recipe in my drawer last night..I think I will have to make one tonight!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Christmas Card challenge at SNR

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have been working on my challenge card for the weekly Christmas Card Challenge over at SNR Card Universe

This week, they offered up a sketch challenge....so..keeping with my current venture with my Cricut..I decided to use the Cricut to create this card.

I'm not sure if I like this card or not..it is a little busy for me...but I am trying to do things different and not keep in the same rut! Which is very easy to do...so I went a little out of my comfort zone on this one... I added sparkles to the flowers and didn't use any stamps except for the sentiment...

So, what do you think?

If you want to get a head start on your Christmas Cards, then drop by the SNR Card Universe and join us on the weekly challenges. By Christmas, you will have all your cards completed!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Its Project Tuesday Time!

Hi, everyone! Yes, you guessed it! It's Project Tuesday time at Stamps and Smiles !

This is the month I get to pick the projects!!! I hope you all enjoy them.
This week, the project is a gable box. I really love boxes, and this one is no different! This box is so easy to put together, and really turns out super cute for any little gift you want to give someone special! You can find the directions on the Project Tuesday site.

I decided to use a digi image from Modern Sugar Blvd, I love digi images, as you can make them any size you like...this one I adjusted to fit the front of this box.
I used the new SU paper and ribbon Melon Mambo and crocheted my own flower to match.

Inside the box is a small bag of bath salts....just a little something to use at the end of a long day.

I sure hope you hop on over to Project Tuesday and join in on the fun this week. Be sure to link your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek at your creations!

Have a wonderful day!
