My New Cricut!

Well, I purchased a Cricuit Expressions a few weeks ago.....I have been sitting here looking at it for a few days and finally decided to pull it out last night!

Boy is this thing intimidating!

I have surfed the web in hopes of finding some folks out there that are really good on this machine and wanted to learn from their expertise!

Well, there are a lot of folks out there that are sooooo good with the Cricut....that now I really am intimidated! I did run across a site that had some really good video tutorials Cardztv.

So I decided to try something simple, using the Doodlecharms cartridge...so I created this cute little popsicle card for my grandson's 4th birthday next week.
Mary, your video inspired this card....so thank you!

Let me know what you think!
If any of you very talented ladies know a really good site, please let me know....I would really appreciate it!
Thanks for looking!

Found a really neat blog!

Ok, While I was surfing the internet this morning....I found a site where they will be having weekly recipe card challenges!

The site is Recipe Card Challenge Blog

Here is my entry for this weeks challenge...Christmas in July!

I am really excited about this site because I have been wanting to put together a recipe book for years!! I just never get around to it..seems I am always too busy doing something else. So my recipes just pile up in my drawer in the kitchen and I am always fumbling thru them to find one...

I am also excited to see some new recipes that I may just have to try!

The recipe card is 6x6, I plan to put all my cards I create into a 6x6 album, Bo Bunny makes one that is super cute and easy to embellish.

For this recipe card, I didn't stamp anything...which is so unlike me! I used my Sizzix holly die that I haven't used in years, and the paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I typed the recipe using Becky Higgins font "hopscotch" and printed the recipe from the computer. I am really looking forward to this weekly challenge!!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Well, better late than never! I am a little late for the Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge this week. All the festivities with my granddaughters birthday party put me way behind!

But, I wanted to go ahead and post the card I whipped up last night. I have been wanting to use this really cute scarecrow stamp since I received him. He is so cute! I plan to use him on some upcoming projects for the fall.

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful Monday!

Busy, Busy Week!

Wow, have I been busy this week....back to work after a 2 week vacation...I knew I would regret taking 2 weeks off....all my work just waits for me....and piles up while I am gone.
Oh, well...take it one day at a time...right!

This Saturday we are celebrating my granddaughter, Brooklyn's 2nd birthday! So I am up to my eyeballs in Hello Kitty preparations!
Here is the birthday party invitation I created.....

These were fun to make, but really took a long time...since I had to run each color thru my BigShot and then paste these together.....But it is all worth it for my granddaughter!!!

I am currently making her birthday dress, with a Hello Kitty applique on my embroidery machine...We have some other items to put together for party, so I better get a move on...I will post the dress and other items when they are complete...

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Sweet Shop Sketch SSS12

This week's sketch challenge at the The Sweet Shop is a really good one! I decided I really need a male card.....and I wanted to use one of the new stamps I purchased a few weeks ago at the Collinsville Il, stamp convention.

This stamp set is so nice! It also has a fish and fishing pole with it. I will have to use those on the next male card I make up.

Male cards are just not my thing, but I like how this one turned out.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamps and Smiles Challenge SASSC22

Happy Wednesday! I decided to combine 2 challenges today, the sketch challenge at Stamps and Smiles and the Christmas Card weekly challenge at SNR card Universe where the challenge this week was to use the colors Red, White and Blue.

Since Anne didn't specifiy Navy blue for the challenge, I decided to use baby blue, red and white..and some other colors too!

This is a really great challenge site, we are making a christmas card every week, so by christmas I will have my cards all completed!

Usually every year, I spend hours making identical cards to send out, and they are usually somewhat simple to make...due to the amount I make. This year will be different! I will have some really neat cards to send out, that didn't really take much time at all...since it was spread out over 8 months!

Thanks for looking and have a really great day!

Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday!

Wow! What a weekend! I am finally getting back to normal....we spent the holiday weekend at the lake with my husbands family! I also drove an extra 2 hours to pick up my grandson...I am on vacation for the next 2 weeks and I wanted to spend some time with him! I miss him since they moved 2 hours away!

And I hope you didn't miss the fantastic "Oh say can you see Blog Hop" from SNU Card Universe! It was super fantastic!!! A lot of incredible projects and cards to view....see my post below this one for all the details....

Ok, now back to the project! This was a super easy project put together by our own Vickilyn!

This is a bag tag!

I decided I needed a super cute tag for my laptop brief case and this worked perfectly!

I could also see this as a luggage tag, so when you travel you would have an easy way to find your luggage. I may be working on another one very soon.

Please pop on over to Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday and join in on the fun!

Make sure you use Mr. Linky and show us your work! We would love to see what you come up with....

We are visiting my brother in law and his wife this 4th of July weekend at the lake, and I wanted to bring a thank you gift to my sister in law for putting us up for the weekend.

The basket contains 2 kitchen towels...so this wasn't an expensive gift at all!

2nd Post today! Scroll down

This week at SNR Universe holiday challenges we were challenged to create a holiday card using bells. The bells could be on the paper, used in a stamp or actual bells on the card.

Well, I discovered I didn't have anything with bells....so a trip to Hobby Lobby was in order! Of course, Hobby Lobby already has most of their Christmas items out on display ....so it was easy to find these cute little bells.

I decided to use a new Magnoila stamp I just purchased, Santa...I love him! I don't think I have seen a Magnoila stamp I don't love!

If you are interested in getting a head start on your christmas cards, hop on over to SNR Card Universe Holidy Challenge and join us in the weekly challenges. You will have your christmas cards completed in no time!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge!

I have found a new challenge site and stamp company to purchase the cutiest stamps from!
Peachy Keen stamps

The little boy with the surf board on my previous post was from Peachy Keen Stamps, and you will be seeing a few more, as they are just the cutiest..did I say that already?

This week at the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge site, they had a sketch challenge, so this is my take on their challenge. I really like how it turned out!

I used my Big Shot to cut out the rustic hearts, and I hand stitched them to the card so they would match the hearts on the bear's blanket.

Hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day!
