CPS107 Card Sketch

Here is my card for the CPS card sketch this week. I really like this layout! I haven't made this size of card before and really like how it turned out. I just received this stamp set from SU and decided it would be perfect!

I wanted the card to open a little shorter on the front so the edging would show. I tried to take a picture of the card with the front a bit open, so you could see what I mean.

Thanks for looking!

My first spring pie!

Well, I did it! I went and made my first pie of the season! Lemon Meringue Pie! Here's a quick picture! I hope I can wait until dinner before I eat this!!!!

Lauren, I will save a piece for you! Ha !

Baby Shower gift

I went to a baby shower this weekend and made this really cute diaper cake...it turned out really good. When I arrived at the shower, the lady who was giving the shower said "oh, another diaper cake!" "I ordered mine on line for my gift" Well, I didn't want to make a big deal about me making my own, so I just set it aside on the gift table. Later when I went up and saw the one she purchased on line, I was shocked that it was not as cute as mine!

I saw this on line several years ago, printed a few pictures and copied it. I don't have the site information where I did this from, or I would post it.

I also made this card for the shower, I turned out cute. I love the little bear from one of my SU sets.

Sketch Challenge from Card Positioning Systems

Here is my take on the sketch challenge from CPS this week. Not exactly the same as the sketch, but I like how it turned out. I just received my new Tilda from Magnolia stamps and had to use her on this sketch. She is soooo cute! The little rose was made using a small scallop punch on white vellum and then inking it up and cutting at each scallop, then fluffing it up. I layered 3 of these to create the rose. I saw this technique on "The Classroom" on Ellen Hutson's site http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/, it was quite easy to do. Thanks for looking.

Taylored Expressions Card Sketch

This week card sketch at Taylored Expressions was a little difficult for me. I have played around with it for a few days and finally decided it was as good as it was going to get. I have several weddings to attend this summer so I thought a wedding card would come in handy. I used a dollar stamp from Michaels this time, I have been wanting to use it for a while and I think it worked well for this sketch.. I also had wanted to try my hand at the ribbon flower I saw on Debbie Olsons site, I think it turned out ok. I will work on that one. Anyway, thanks for looking!

Driving home from Branson!!!!

Well, on Saturday it wasn't so bad when we woke up to about a inch of snow in Branson MO. But we were sure surprised when we started our drive home to St. Louis the snow we would encounter! This is a picture of the snow from our window at The Big Cedar Lodge, before we started our drive home. Pretty, right?

Well, then we hit the big snow storm on Highway 44 home and what a mess we encountered. We ended up sitting on the highway for over 5 1/2 hours....what a mess. These are some pictures when we were just sitting on the highway.....no fun! We ended up staying the night in a town named St. Roberts, where they received over 10 inches of snow! We were able to make it home the next day where there wasn't any snow at all! It was all very strange...glad it's over.
