New Challenge at the OCC!

Happy Saturday everyone! First I want to thank everyone for the fantastic comments on my Holiday Planner! (Scroll down to previous post to check out the planner if you haven't seen it!)

I hope to be able to put together some type of tutorial soon, as a few people have asked for one, and again, I want to thank Organized Christmas, for featuring me on their site! I have used their site for many years to help me get organized for the holidays.

Now, for today, there is a new challenge at the OCC. The Challenge is create a card or project using a Vintage theme.

So I immediately knew I was going to use my new stamp set "Vintage Christmas" from Waltzingmouse. Waltzingmouse is a brand new stamp company and she really has some amazing stamp sets.

For this card, I found some cream colored lace ribbon and used it to put on both sides of the burgundy cardstock from PTI. The designer paper is a new Christmas paper called Christmas Magic from Fancy Pants Designs. The ink is New Leaf and Scarlet Jewel from PTI as well as the cardstock for the card base it is from PTI Scarlet Jewel. The ribbon is from PTI and is Vintage Cream, and the buttons are as well from PTI Scarlet Jewel. I hope you like it!

Thanks for looking today and have a wonderful Halloween!!!!

Holiday Planner

Edit: Oh my gosh! I have been featured at the Organized Christmas!!!!!

I just love this site! I have used it for the past few years to help me get organized for Christmas! I am soooo honored to be featured there!!! Thank you Cynthia!!!!

Hi everyone! I have been working on a Holiday Planner for a few weeks! I was first inspired by

Christmas with the Cricut a few weeks ago when HappyHappyJoyJoy did a project using the Gypsy and the Winterwoodland cart.

Joy showed us how to weld a simple rectangle to one of the houses on the Winterwoodland cart and create a shaped book.

I really liked what she did, so I decided to make my Holiday Planner this year using this idea. I make a planner every year, I find it helps me stay organized for the holidays.

For the cover, the windows and front door and wreath were cut using the Christmas cart. The Holiday Planner title I created on the computer and printed out.

Here are a few pictures of my organizer...

I created the actual planner pages on the computer and then adhered them to the house cutout pages. The pages shown here are for Thanksgiving. I find it helps me to make notes about what the meal will be for Thanksgiving, so when it closer to the holiday I have my thoughts together in one place.

The page on the left has the December calendar and the page on the right is the guest list for my annual cookie exchange party. I like to keep track of who I have invited and whether they plan to attend.

The page on the left here is the actual planner I will use to put together the Cookie exchange, the menu, games etc. Then on the right, I created a little pocket to put a shopping list tag into. That way I don't have to take the whole planner to the store, I can just pull out the shopping list tag and throw in my purse.

The page on the left here is my gift wish list. I decided to make this page a pocket also and use the same tag idea so I could jot down gift ideas for each person and take with me without taking the whole planner. The page on the right is a place to record what gifts I plan to make and send in the mail and keep track of those.

The last 2 pages..the one on the left is my Christmas dinner meal planner and the pocket on the right holds a couple of shopping list tags to be used as I need them.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my planner, I really had a good time making this one! I just love my Cricut and it has made my crafting so much fun!

Have a wonderful day!

New sketch challenge at Stamps and Smiles

Hi everyone! Today there is a new sketch challenge over at Stamps and Smiles!

Well, since Stamps and Smiles has released some new "digi" images, I decided to use one for my card this week!

Isn't this little guy cute! I just love him! I really love digi images, as you can size them to any size you would like!

For this card, I used my Cricut to cut out the tag and then colored the snowman with Copics. I added a little wiggly lines around the tag for some interest.

The paper is from PTI and the sentiment is from Stamps and Smiles. I used a "snow" pen on the hat brim and pom pom on the hat, but I'm not sure if that shows up very well.

We would love to have you play along with us this week, so jump on over to Stamps and Smiles and check out the other DT''s samples for this week....and while you are there, link up your card to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Stair Step Card - Project Tuesday

Hi Everyone! Today is a new project over at Project Tuesday, a stair step card!

Before I show you my sample for this week, I wanted to tell you all that Stamps and Smiles has just started offering DIGI images!!! Can you believe it! I just love Digi images for their versatility in sizing! Be sure to tune in on Thursday, I will be showing my sketch for Stamps and Smiles sketch challenge with a new digi image.

Now, for my card! This was a challenge for me, I haven't created a stair step card before, and it was quite easy to do!

I decided to use a stamp set that I haven't used in a long time, I don't even know the name of the maker, they are a clear stamp set that I must have purchased at Michaels or Archivers..anyway it is a set of trees. I thought it was a simple image and used the sentiment from PTI to go along with the simplicity of the card. I used SU designer paper and PTI ribbon.
Please join us this week over at Project Tuesday and create a stair step card. Be sure to link up your card to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!
And don't forget to check out the new digi images from Stamps and Smiles! I'm sure you will just love them!
Have a wonderful day!

OCC Challenge - Halloween movie

Happy Saturday! Today is a new challenge over at the OCC!

This week we were challenged to create a card using the theme from a Halloween movie!
Well, I have 4 little grandchildren, and the big movie for them this year is Monster House! So I decided to make my card based on Monster House.
I used a SVG file for the haunted house cut, and used Every Day paperdolls for the pumpkin and ghost cut. The "Boo" was cut from the Wildcard cart. I added those pop up eyes to the windows...since the house in the movie came alive for the little boys...
Please stop by the OCC and check out the other DT's cards! They are really great this week!
And while you are there, play along with us..and link your card up to Mr. Linky so we can all take a look!
Thanks for looking and have a great Saturday!

Christmas Tags from Gypsy

Hi everyone! I wanted to post these real quick tonight before my grandchildren come over..it will be crazy once they are here...I made these really cute Christmas tags using my Gypsy! Every year I want to make handmade gift tags, but with all the other items I make, I usually run out of time and don't get to the tags! So I end up buying those dumb little store bought ones!

This year is different! I have my Gypsy! These are super easy to make and I can whip them out on the Cricut in no time!

I used Tags, Boxes and More cart for the tag, the tag is sized at 4.25, then I added from Doodlecharms the Santa face. I sized him to hang a bit off the side of the card and then welded them together...I cut this as my base, then I cut the Santa face accessories at the same size 2 times once in white and then in red. I used grey ink to highlight the edges and add squiggly lines on the tag in red.
The reindeer was basically made the same way...these are so fun to make, I am going to make a bunch more!
Thanks for looking!

New Sketch Challenge - Stamps and Smiles

Hi everyone! Today there is a new sketch challenge over at Stamps and Smiles!

For the challenge this week, I am using Cuppy from the new Stamps and Smiles Winter release! Isn't she cute! I colored her with Copics. For the Dear Santa, I found this really cute embossing folder by Quikcutz...I used it with my Coor'dinations cardstock, so once I had the cardstock embossed, I then used a sanding block and sanded a little on the embossed image so the lighter color of the card stock would show thru.

Make sure you stop by Stamps and Smiles and check out the other Design Team members samples for the challenge this week! They are really fantastic! and while your there, join in on the fun...and make sure you link up your card to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday - Shaker Card

Oh, the project this week at Stamps and Smiles is a really fun one!!!

I new as soon as I saw the project, I wanted to use the snowglobe from the Joys of the Season cart for my Cricut for the shaker!

I think this turned out so darn cute! I had to do a little creating with my gypsy to make this work, I cut an extra circle out for the front by layering the blackout and the shadow of the snow globe together to create the circle to fit on top to hold in the glitter. I cut the snowglobe at 3.75 inches on my gypsy, I also cut the acetate on the Cricut, it cut fantastic!

For that cute little snowman, he is from the Stamps and Smiles new release! I just love him..he is just perfect for the snowglobe!

Make sure you stop by over at Stamps and Smiles this week, and join in on the fun with this super shaker card! Be sure to link up your card to Mr. Linky so we ca all take a peek! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Thanks for looking and have a great Tuesday!

OCC color challenge

Happy Saturday all! Today is a new challenge over at The OCC..and it is a color challenge!

Now color challenges are not my favorite...I much prefer a sketch challenge...but I am happy with how this one turned out...

This is another cocoa holder....but this time I cut it with my Cricut!!! I created the cut file on my Gypsy....this is my very first cut file and I can't wait to try another one!

I wish we could share files from our Gypsy, I would love to share this with you all. Maybe in the future with an enhancement for the Gypsy!

Anyway, for this project, I used SU Handsome Hunter for the cocoa holder base, and added SU Designer paper in Sage Shadow and stamped my image using Blush Blossom and Sage Shadow. I didn't have a ribbon to match, so I took some cream ribbon and colored it with my Sage Shadow marker.

Now you might say, where is the Soft Suede? Well, I didn't have that color, so I decided to use some little dew drops in light brown and put them in the center of each flower...

Please be sure to stop by the OCC and check out the other DT cards, they are really super this week!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! Today is a new sketch challenge from Stamps and Smiles!
I decided with all the Christmas cards we made last week, I needed to make a Thanksgiving card!

For this card, I used the newly released Fall Harvest stamp set from Stamps and Smiles! This set is so versatile! Not only does it have those super cute pumpkins I created the card for the OCC, but it also has this corn cob image. For this one, I stamped the corn cob image 3 times, masking off the center one when I stamped the other 2.

Make sure you stop by the Stamps and Smiles site and join in on the fun, be sure to post your card with Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek at what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Project Tuesday Acetate Box

Happy Tuesday!!! Its Project Tuesday Time! This week we are making an acetate treat box!

This box turned out sooo cute! At first I wasn't quite sure I would like it...but I definetly decided I do!

For my box, I used some heavyweight Designer paper I had in my stash. I cut that cute little birdie on my Cricut using Coor'dinations cardstock. I then sanded the cardstock so the lighter color would show thru. The Coor'dinations cardstock is really great for this. I added a couple of buttons and the cute sentiment from PTI.

I filled this treat box up with some Dove chocolates! Yummy!

Besure to jump on over to Project Tuesday and join in on the fun! Make sure you leave your project linked up to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Halloween gifts

Happy Sunday to you! I have been working on a couple of projects for my grandchildren's Halloween treats and for some friends.

First up is a "cafe box" cut on my Cricut using SCAL. The SVG file came from Melinda Ford, she has some awesome files...and they are free!!!! Did I say Free! Yes Free!!!!

I cut this box out on some Halloween cardstock and added the skull sticker from BOBunny's Halloween line this year. I have made 4 of these boxes, 1 for each grandchild, so I decided I better put their names on their box, so they don't fight over them, or forget which one is theirs...

I still haven't decided what to put in each box..but I will be making a trip to Walgreens, and I'm sure I can find something to fill it up with!

The next project is one that I have made many times for different holidays. When I went to Michaels a few days ago, I found some Halloween cocoa mixes..they were sooo cute, I new I had to do something with them.

So, I made up this Cocoa box from a template I got from Debbie Olsen blog a while ago...I'm sure she still has it somewhere on her site.

I used SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock as the base for the cocoa holder. Then I added some Halloween paper I picked up at Michaels, I also used my MS gooey punch on the front...The witch is from PTI's spooky sweets stamp set as well as the Sentiment on the front.

One the inside...

I used my Nesties to cut out the window for the super cute little witch on the cocoa packet to show thru, I added some transparency to the window front, and again the sentiments are all from PTI's Spooky Sweets set.

This is what the cocoa box looks like before the cocoa mix is added...isn't that a cute cocoa mix?

I think I will be giving this one to my mail lady! She is so sweet and just loves to stamp!

Well, I'm off to finish up a couple of other Halloween projects so I can get started on my Christmas ones!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day.

Happy Saturday! Today's challenge at the OCC is a sketch challenge!

For my card, I have used one of the sets from SAS new fall release/winter stamp sets !

I stamped the pumpkin images from the set, and drew on my own face on each pumpkin!

Those cute little pumpkins just cried out to me to be jack o lanterns!

I added a little spider web and spider stamp I had in my stash..not sure who it is from...and stamped the pumpkin image on the orange cardstock for a background paper!

I just love the new stamps from SAS! If you haven't had a chance to check them out yet, be sure to stop by their site and look at all the samples from the design team!

2nd Post today! Recipe card challenge

Hi, I hope your day is going well! Mine has been super busy at work, but I wanted to take a moment before I go to fix dinner to post by recipe card for the challenge this week at The Recipe Challenge Blog!

The challenge this week is create a recipe card with the theme "loven from your oven"! So instead of making a dessert, I decided to make mine with my favorite stuffed shells recipe!

I just made this for dinner last night, I added some Italian sausage along with the hamburger and it turned out GREAT!!! I hope you give it a try. Also, the recipe calls to put in your crockpot, but I just popped it in the oven for 1 hour and it turned out great!

For this recipe card I used DP from Die Cuts with a View, the "recycled" paper pack. I cut the really cute apron and oven mits from my Cricut using my Gypsy to design and using the From my Kitchen cart! I really love my Gypsy and Cricut! I have been having alot of fun learning how to use the Gypsy! If you notice, I also cut a recipe card out using the From My kitchen cart, using the centerpoint function with one of the recipe cards cuts.

This recipe challenge blog has really helped me get my recipes together into an book! I have had recipes just floating around my kitchen for sometime...and I always intend to put them in a book, but never get to it! So if you are like me, and really want to organize your recipes into a beautiful book, jump on over to the The Recipe Challenge blog and play along....I would love to see some of your favorite recipes!

thanks for looking and see you all tomorrow for the Stamps and Smiles day 4 of releases!!!!
