Project Tuesday - Altered Picture Frame

Hi Crafters! It's project Tuesday time...and today we have a really FUN project! An altered picture frame! I have really wanted to make one of these for quite some time, but I just haven't had the time! So when it was my turn to pick the projects for the month, I made sure to include this one....

My oldest daughter is expecting her 3rd son this June, and she is doing the baby's room in a Jungle theme...so I needed to get started on some items to add to the room and this picture frame just fit perfectly!

I just recently purchased the Animal Kingdom cart for my Cricut and decided to give it a whirl on this project!

I just LOVE how this turned out!

For directions on altering the picture frame, head on over to Project Tuesday and you will find the directions.

For my frame, I made the following cuts on my Cricut using the Animal Kingdom cart:

Elephant cut at 4 inches

Monkey cut at 3 inches

Giraffe cut at 6 inches

Tree is from the "Life's a Beach" cart cut at 6 inches

I cut all the animals and the tree from cereal boxes (chipboard) first using the blackout feature.

Then I cut each animal using the normal cut and also cut one on the blackout feature, flipped (to cover the back of the chipboard, since some of the animals hang over the side)

I then chalked up each image, layered, adhered to chipboard and coated each one in Modge Podge to give it some shine and strength and to also match the picture frame which is also covered in Modge Podge.

I adhered each animal to the frame using Scotch quick dry glue.

Thanks for looking and if you have time, hop on over to Project Tuesday and check out the other Design Team members frames! They are Super!!!!

Have a wonderful day!
