Sketch Challenge - SAS

Happy Thursday everyone! Today we have a really super cute sketch challenge at SAS!

For my card, I used my Cricut to cut out a stamp image with a heart and the word LOVE on it from the Sweethearts cart. I used the digi stamp from the last release at Stamps and Smiles, those cute little love birds to put in the center of the heart. I decided to color them up as Cardnials....aren't they sweet! I created my own little embellishment with a clear epoxy dot and adhered it to the same Designer Paper that I used for the base of my card.

Make sure you stop by SAS today and check out the other design team members cards, they are super!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!...the sun is shining here today!!!!

The cute little flowers are from an older SAS set released last spring. I also cut the little tag from the same cart on my Cricut using the Tag feature.

Project Tuesday - One sheet box

Happy Tuesday!!! Today's project at Project Tuesday is the One Sheet Box! This is a very simple little treat box to make, I just love how it turned out!

I used MS's new Valentine paper for my box and that cute little stamp image is from a new set I just purchased from Stampendous called "Love Buds"! This set also has a super cute little girl! I stamped the image and colored with my Copics. I also added a little glitter around the edges...You really can't see it very well on the kinda of looks like a glob around the edges..but it really does look good.
I added a couple of punched hearts and the scallop border across the top of the box, and tied it all up with a ribbon.
You can find the directions to this cute little box over at Project Tuesday, and while you are there, be sure to link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a look.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Tutorial for Songbird card

Well, here it first tutorial! I hope you can follow along......
I cut my card base from the cart "A Childs Year" I used the "card" feature on page 48.

I cut the card base at 5 1/4 on SU Barley Banana cardstock.

I cut the Scallop square that layers on top of the card at 4 3/4 from SU designer paper. I wanted the scallop square to be a bit smaller than the top of the card.

Now, change to the Songbird cart and cut the "Perch" feature on page 45.

I cut the bird on the branch 3 times, once on green cardstock, once on blue and once on brown. Then I cut the shadow feature, which is shift/Perch on grey cardstock. I made all the cuts at 1 3/4

Thats it for the cutting lets assemble!

Score and fold the card base on the score marks.

I then ran the front (scallop edge) of the card the the cuttlebug using the dots folder.
I took by little ink pad from PTI, and inked up the edges of the card base and the scalloped square. I even took the top of the small pad and rubbed it across the embossed dots and across the designer paper to give it an aged look.

Next I took each of the bird on the branch cuts and trimmed them up to layer together. I cut the leaves and the bird off the brown cut, the bird and legs off the green cut and cut the entire bird off the blue cut.I then glued them down on the grey shadow cut.

I used some chalk to add some dimension to the branch, leaves and bird and added a little highlight with my white gel pen. For the little birds eye, I just adhered a very small black pearl from a pack of different sized pearl accents.

I used PTI Leaf Green satin ribbon and threaded it thru one of the scallop holes on the top and bottom of the layer.

I tied a bow with the ribbon....

I then added a button with twine tied thru and adhered to the bow with a glue dot. I then used dimensionals to adhere the scallop layer to the front the card, and also used dimensionals to add the bird on the branch to the scallop layer. I then stamped a sentiment from PTI's stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my first tutorial, please let me know so I can improve where needed.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday - 3x3 Gift Card box

Happy Tuesday everyone! First, let me say "What a difference the right light can make"!!! I purchased a halogen light for my craftroom this weekend and I can really see what I am doing now!!! I don't really know how I did anything before...the room looks so dark when the new light is turned I decided to try it out for some pictures....all I can say is WoW! The pictures are so much more clearer! Hope you can tell also!!
Now for the project this week....we have a really cute little 3x3 box to make that holds cute little gift cards! I decided to do my cards as a Valentine gift....

For my box I used some of my new MS Valentine Paper I just picked up this weekend! I love her new paper!!! I also used my new MS double loop border punch around the edge of the lid...I love how delicate this is...I also wanted this to be a quick and simple project, as I didn't have a lot of time to put this it can be made quick for a last minute gift!

I punched a large scallop circle out of white cardstock, wrinkled it up a bit and then layered a smaller scallop circle out of the same paper I created the lid with. Then I stamped the heart from PTI Heart Prints, a set released last year and added some MS fine glitter to some of the circles on the heart (I don't think you can see that on the picture) I then tied the whole thing together with a button. I love how simple this is but so nice.
Here is the side view, I also added a small strip of paper to the side to match the lid.Now for the cute little cards inside! These were super simple to make and I think I will make a few more to send out to my friends for Valentines Day! I basically punched hearts and scallops out of more MS Valentine paper and added some buttons or other accents. I then stamped the sentiment from the PTI Heart Prints set and drew the lines around the card with a black gel pen.

Please make sure you stop by the Project Tuesday and check out the other Design Teams samples...they are super this week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

New Challenge at OCC - Keep it Simple!!!

Happy Saturday everyone...This week's challenge at the OCC is to keep it Simple!!!!

For my card this week, I decided to pull out a stamp I purchased sometime ago...I have been meaning to use it...I just haven't gotten around to it. I just LOVE this image! Those little creatures marching to a birthday party is just so fun!

I colored the image with my Copics and added some fine glitter around some of the images. I used SU Cardstock for the base and the designer paper is also from SU, an older pack I think.

Please join us this week at the OCC!
