Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles

It is Tuesday, and that means Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles

This week we are making a really cute bag made from 1 sheet of paper! I decided to create a little thank you gift for a bridal shower I will be giving. I just love how it turned out! Such an easy project!

Instead of using a ribbon to close my bag, I decided to use a covered button as the closure, and then applied velcro for the actual closure so the button is only a design element.

Please join us over st Stamps and Smiles for the Project Tuesday, and link your project so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking!

Stamps and Smiles - late!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful father's day! Treating your father to something special! We just got back in town this afternoon, we purchased my husband a new truck! We had to drive down to Arkansas to pick it up, my husbands brother is a car dealer...so that is what my husband received for fathers day! I have to say, that's a great gift! Oh, he also requested King Crab Legs for dinner, so I will be prepairing those shortly.

Anyway...for my card.....I had such a busy week at work that I lost track of time and when I created this card from the Stamps and Smiles weekly sketch challenge...I didn't realize it was the sketch from last week! But I love this card so much, that I wanted to post it anyway!

These are the new stamps sets from Papertrey Ink...isn't the basket just the cutiest! As soon as I saw this set during the preview, I just new I had to have it!

The backround paper on top, I designed myself using some of the Papertrey Ink backround basics.....
Thanks for looking and it's off to another full week!

Well, I am at it again, I have attempted to combine 3 challenges into 1 card! This week, I am using the Holiday Challenges on SNR Card University which was to use pink somewhere on your card. So if you look hard enough, you will see a few of the christmas lights are pink!

Then on to Our Creative Corner where the challenge was to use a border punch on your card. So, along the side of the stamped image, you will see I have used my new Martha Stewart border punch....just love that one!

And finally, The Sweet Shop where they offered the card sketch. Well, I have to say, I losely used the card sketch...I tried really hard, but the stamped image was just too big! So I hope it counts!

So, on to this really cool new stamp set I purchased at a stamping convention this weekend in Collinsville Illinois. I found this set, which is created by Stamps by Judith that I fell in love with! This tree is so versitile and easy to use. I love all the little stamps you can use to embellish the tree! You will be seeing more of these from me, as I have a few other ideas in my head that just need to come out!

So, thanks for looking and have a great day!!!!

Card Challenges! 3 of them in 1 card!

Well, I am progressing on my card challenges....this time I have completed 3 on the same card!

The first is the challenge from SNR Card University I am participating in the Holiday Challenges. We are challenged every week to create a christmas card based on the challenge for that week. This week it is to create a christmas card featuring either snowflakes or snowmen. So I decided to pull out one of my favorites snowman sets, Made of Snow from Papertrey Ink. It is a build a snowman set, and it is super fun to work with.

Cupcake Craft Challenge the challenge this week is to use the colors; blue, yellow and pink on your card. So I went thru my christmas paper stash and found this paper that had all 3 colors! What luck...so I continued on using the 3rd challenge from The Sweet Shop they had the sketch challenge for my card!

I hope to improve and combine even more challenges into a 1 card!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The Recipe:
Stamps: PTI: Made of Snow
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: SU Bashful Blue, Barely Banana
Ribbon: PTI Spring Rain ribbon

Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles

Happy Tuesday! Its time for another Project Tuesday at Stamps and Smiles This was a fun one! A very simple box that would be great as a gift item to a teacher, friend or just anyone! I decided to use my new Cuppie stamp from Stamps and Smiles, she is super cute and really added the right touch to my box that I am using to give a few cookies to a friend.

Do you notice my beautiful crochet flower? I made that myself! I have been looking all over the web for just the right pattern to use, and wouldn't you know it.. Nichole Heady from Papertrey Ink would come up with just the most beautiful pattern! I have been busy making flowers of every color, so you will see a lot more of them from me!
Please take a moment and jump over to Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday and link up your project! I would love to see what you come up with!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The Next Level challenge

This was the premier week for The Next Level a new site where they will be featuring turtorials, challenges, hint and tips and a lot more! The tutorial this week is "how to make lollipop flowers". Well, I have to say I hadn't seen these before, but as soon as I watched the video tutorial, I new I had to try one! I used the free digi paper offered on their site from Summertime Designs the Freedom Kit. Please go and take a look at Summers site, she is so sweet to offer her digi paper free! and they are beautiful! You can make a donation on her site to a very worthy cause if you would like... I really like these flowers and will definetly be making more of them.

The card challenge this week was to use a lollipop flower and a cut out on your card. So this is mine....I'm not sure if you can tell by the photo, but Tilda is sitting on the oval cutout that is adhered to the backround paper with diminsionals, so it is raised a bit. Hopefully it looks like the night sky....thats what I was trying to accomplish!

Because I thought the lollipop flower looked a little vintage, I wanted the rest of the card to also go that way...so I used the PTI new Chai ink to color the vintage cream ribbon, giving it a older look. I also used the Chai ink around the edges of the papers and the lollipop flower.

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful day!

Stamps: PTI Backround Basics - Text Style, Let Freedom Ring, Magnolia Tilda

CPS 118 and Pink Elephant Card Challenges

This week at the CPS and the The Pink Elephant the card sketch challenge fit right in to my vacation project I have been working on.

I wanted to send both of my daughters CD's of the pictures from our vacation to the Smokey Mountains, so this is what I came up with!

The CD case is from Debbie Olson web site, she has a tutorial there and image is from Dustin Pike, isn't he cute! Since Lauren and her family did see some bears while we were there, I thought this was just perfect.

I plan to get these in the mail today, so hopefully my daughter won't be checking out my blog for a few days, at least until she receives my gift.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Its Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday!

This weeks' project is totally awsome! It is a gift card holder made from a coffee sleeve! What a great idea! I had to go to Starbucks and pick up a few, and also pick up a coffee drink while I was there...and some coffee...and some other items...just love that place!

I decided since Father's Day is fast approaching, I should go ahead and make my gift card holder for my dad...I always seem to have a bit of a challenge making masculine items, this turned out pretty good I think. Now to come up with something for my husband, Bart....

Be sure to stop by at Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday and see what the other gals have done with this great project and be sure to post yours so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking and have a great day
