Mother's Day Box

Hi Crafters! I can't believe it is my day to share with you, I am so excited to be part of The Gyptians design team! This is a really fun and talented group of ladies!

For my project today, I made a gift box for a necklace I am giving to my mother on Mother's Day.
It was fun to challenge myself to use the Home Accents and Home Decor cartridges - and I did use Gypsy Wanderings since we are using the Gypsy of course!

Now, on to my project! I am new at doing videos, so mine today are quite long..sorry, but I hope you won't mind. There are 2 videos for each part of the project.

We will start with the box first, this is a screen shot of my gypsy using GW cart to create the cuts for the box...

Now for the flower - this is the screen shot using AE and HD to create the flower and leaves. The base of the flower is cut at 2" and then each flower is cut at 1/4 increments going down. The leaf is copied and pasted and turned then welded.

I hope you enjoyed the videos and you find them helpful. If you would like o have the gypsy file, I am posting it below. If you haven't become a follower of TheBugBytes you should really check it out! There are a lot of great designers lined up for the first 2 weeks of the month!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Project Tuesday - Altered Tin

Hi Crafters! Today is Tuesday so it is Project Tuesday time!

This week at Project Tuesday we are making an altered tin or box.

For my tin, I used some paper I have had for quite some time, so I don't know the name of it. I used the Create a critter cart to cut the cute little bird and the Give a Hoot cart to cut the words.

I thought I would fill this tin with some candy and give to a friend.

Make sure you stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other design team members samples!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Baby Shower Items

Hi Crafters! Well, we had a great time at the baby shower for my daughter! Here are a few more items I created for the shower....

The gift bag:

The baby stroller cut is from New Arrival cart, it matches the baby card I made in the previous post. The sentiment is stamped from a PTI stamp set and I used my MS large border punch for the white lace looking border. For the bag, I used a premade gift bag in white...I didn't have time to make one myself..and this worked perfect!

The Diaper Cake:

The theme of the baby's room is going to be a Jungle theme...so I decided to decorate the diaper cake to match. I stamped my own background paper using some stamps from Stampendous that I have had for quite a while and then cut into strips and layered onto dark blue cardstock and applied to each layer of the diaper cake.

I cut the baby's name "Logan" with my Cricut...sorry, I can't remember which cart I used...I scanned thru so many that I forgot! I cut the letters out on chipboard first and then with the dark blue cardstock and glued the cardstock on the chipboard. I then punched holes in each letter and strung them to flow down the cake. I always add a few baby items to the cake...so this one has 2 pacifiers, wash cloths, teething ring and a few baby items.

These are really fun to make, the recipient always enjoys receiving them.

Well, I'm off to a day at work! Thanks for looking and I will see you all later!

A few baby shower items

Hi Crafters! thank you for the well wishes! I really appreciate them! I am feeling better and I have been working on a few items for my daughters baby shower this weekend.

The first is a diaper bag, burping towel and wipes case. I started making these when my granddaughter was born and they have quickly become a "staple" for baby shower gifts lately!

The diaper bag is very large, I created the bag pattern myself after seeing something similar at a sewing center. The wipe case is covered with the same fabric as the bag, if you search on Youtube for "diaper wipe case" you will find many videos on how to cover these. The last item is the burping towel, this is basically a prefolded diaper that I fold a little smaller and add the decorative fabric on the top and bottom.

I still have a few more items to complete, one will be a diaper cake...it is turning out really cute! I can't wait to show you it!

Then, of course, I had to create a card for the shower.

I used my Gypsy to design this card, it was super easy. Using the "New Arrival" cart, I selected the baby buggy image. I copied and flipped the image and then welded together to create the card. I cut the layers out of blue, blue gingham and grey cardstock and inked the edges. I added a bow and a stamped a baby sentiment from PTI's Bitty Baby set. I also added some highlights with my white gel pen.

Well, I'm off to create some more items......thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday - Spiral Card

Happy Tuesday crafters! Today at Project Tuesday we have a really fun card! It is a spiral card! I hadn't created a card like this before...so it was fun to try something new!

For my card, I used my new cricut cart "Create a Critter"! I just love this cart it has soooo many possibilities!

I started with Bazzel cardstock and the designer paper is from a new paper pad from HL. I cut the words Happy birthday, and the presents with my cricut. I didn't have any ribbon to match the Bazzel cardstock, then I remembered the tip I received during my Copic certification class...take white ribbon and color it with your Copics...to make a custom ribbon color! So that what I did! I love that idea! Now for the fun part of the card......

When you open up the card it has a spiral piece of cardstock with some additional embellishments on the inside! Don't you just love that little "party snake" He is sooo darn cute! I just had to add him to the inside of this card....and the sentiment is from a new stamp set I purchased from Inkadinkado called "kid quotes". It is a super stamp sent with quotes from kids!

If you have time, be sure to stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other design team members cards! and play along! We would love to see what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

New Page layout using Robotz cartridge

Hi Crafters! Well, I did it! I went and purchased the Robotz cartridge at the "M" sale this week! I told myself I didn't really need it, but when it went on sale....how could I resist!!!

So, I got busy creating this layout highlighting my oldest grandson, Coy.

I really like how this turned out...the paper is from HL, The Paper Studio, it fit this cartridge so well!

I am using my gypsy to design my layouts, this makes it soooo easy to change things up if I don't like what I created. Once I have the layout design finished, then all I do is cut away! I will try to do a video on this technique in a few days..I just don't have time today...By the way, the Robotz cart does have a lot of little layering pieces...so be ready to spend some time putting these cute little guys together...but I think they are worth it!

The title "Bolts about you" I created also on my gypsy using the font and font shadow images from the Robotz cart. I welded the letters together and then welded the shadow images as well, I can show you how to do that on the video also..it is very easy.

Well, I'm off to my very busy day...thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!
