Tweet Heart digi image and challenge!

Happy New Year!!!!! We are staying home tonight....my husband and I decided we would spend the evening together....just the two of us...we had a very busy Christmas with our family..so we are looking forward to the quite evening celebrating the new year!

Oh, my gosh...I found the cutiest blog....The Digi Kitty....they have a super cute digi image "free" until January 1st...so hurry over and check them out! They also have a challenge going until Janaury 1st...create something using the free image....

So this is what I created...

I used Sweet Treats cart and cut this super cute little box with my Cricut! I cut the box on p57, since it didn't have any cut outs for layers on this one. I could add my own embellishments.
I colored this super cute image with my Copics and cut the circle and scallop with my Nestabilites Circle.

Added some ribbon around the box and for the embellishment on the bow, I punched the heart in the circle out of the same Designer Paper I used to create the box, the paper is new from MS, her Valentine collection. I then punched 5 more circles out of red cardstock and glued them all together to make a thick stack. I then used some Crystal Effects from SU and covered the entire top of the stack, which has the punched heart in the circle on top. Once it dried, it looks like one of those epoxy embellishments you purchase in a package..I am going to do this technique again...It was very easy and the results are super.

I also added a handle to the basket, the cut file has two little holes on the side
of the basket, So I just added the same designer paper as the handle and attached using 2 little red brads.

I just love how this turned out...I think I may make a few more for Valentines day. These would be perfect to put a treat in for each of my grandchildren.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a safe evening!

New challenge at Project Tuesday - Pull out scrap book

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week at Project Tuesdaywe have a really fun challenge and very useful, if you are like me and want to send some Christmas pictures to relatives that weren't able to make it home for the holidays! This is a Pull out scrapbook! I am planning to fill this book with pictures from Christmas and send to my mother in Florida. She will really enjoy seeing the pictures in a scrapbook instead of emailing to her.Once the book is open each side has a pull out album you can fill with up to 7 photos on each side.... For my album I used SU Christmas Designer paper to cover the front and inside of the book. I added an additional spine to the front and punched it with my new MS loopy border punch...The stamp image is from Verve Stamps...it is a free digi image they have until the end of the year. I typed the sentiment on the inside on my computer and layered it with SU cardstock.

I added some glitter to the stamped image around the edges of the mittens, and added a rhinestone to the center of each snowflake on the mittens.

I hope you stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other DT members samples this week...and if you would like to play along, please link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a look.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

New Challenge at the OCC!

Happy Sunday everyone, I am so sorry....I didn't get my post uploaded to publish on Saturday for the new OCC challenge! We have been very busy here for the holidays....my daughter is going home today after a fun filled week....but I did want to make sure my post is loaded for today...

This week's challenge a the OCC is to create a card or project with FOOD in mind.

For my card, I started off with paper from from a "Sweets Treat" paper pad, it has glitter already embedded in the paper and it really looks like a lot of layers...which made this card simple easy to make..I then used my PTI stamps, Button Bits.....I saw a really neat technique on another site to make your own buttons...so I gave it a try. I used some round clear epoxy stickers I had in my stash and punched circles about the same size....then adhered the clear epoxy sticker to the circle. Then I used a hole punch to punch two small holes in the epoxy sticker to create the button. I really like how they turned out...I will be doing this technique again.

I then used my Nestabilities to cut out the circle and the scallop and did a quick zig-zag stitch around the circle to complete it.

Make sure you stop by the OCC and check out the other design team members cards, they are really great!

I sure hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Project Tuesday - Card box

Happy Tuesday everyone! We have a new project over at Project Tuesday we are creating a card box!

This is such a cute little box! I just love it! I stamped this super sweet image of a little bird on a branch from Whippersnappers stamps. I colored the image with my Copics and added a little glitter around the edges. The sentiment "Friend" is from PTI. I added black lines around the white cardstock.
Heres the box open.

I also made a few cards to match the box. I added the punch border from MS on the cards.

Please stop by Project Tuesday and join in on the fun this week!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Snowflake challenge at the OCC

Happy Saturday everyone! Today we have a new challenge over at the OCC!

"Let It Snow"....create any project or card using snowflakes!

For my card this week, I cut out this really cute snowflake card from the Winterwonderland Cart and cut with my Cricut. I then added packing tape to the inside of the card over the snowflake, so the sticky side is facing out and added some MS glitter! I also added some blue rhinestones and the sentiment is from PTI.

This was not my original idea......I saw this at Christmas with the cricut a few weeks ago when HappyHappyJoyJoy did a simple card. I really loved the idea and I have been wanting to try it out for some time. So, when I saw the challenge this week was a anything with a snowflake...I just had to give it a try.

Please stop by the OCC and check out the other design team members samples, they are really super this week!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

New Sketch Challenge - Stamps and Smiles

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Today we have a new sketch challenge over at Stamps and Smiles and its a fun one!

For my card this week, I decided to make my own background paper using several sentiments from Stamps and Smiles sets. I lined them up on my crafting mat, and put them on my largest stamp block. I really love how this turned out! Then I printed the stocking from a digi release last week onto designer paper and cut it out and applied it to the card. For those cute little loops , I used my new MS loop punch! Oh, I love that punch..I will be using it a bit more!

Well, I hope you stop by Stamps and Smiles and check out the other design team members cards, they are super this week!

Project Tuesday - Side Step Card

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Well, we are getting pretty close to Christmas! I sure hope you all have your projects just about complete!!! I am nearly finished with all of mine!

Before I go to the Project Tuesday challenge today, I wanted to share a photo of 2 of my grandchildren. I kept Coy and Brooklyn this past weekend, while their parents were able to get some Christmas shopping done and a little down time before the holidays begin.....one of the Christmas traditions we started when Coy was younger is to make a gingerbread house. Over the years this has gotten easier to do, the first few years were really messy! But, after trial and error, Coy and I have gotten a system to creating our house. This year, we included Brooklyn, she had a great time...I think she ate more than she contributed to the creation of the house...but we all had a fun night...and that is the most important part of creating the tradition!!!!! When we finished up the gingerbread house, we popped some popcorn and watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.......and then we all went to bed!!!

Now for the project this week at Project Tuesday we are making a side step card!
I hadn't made this type of card before, so I was a little anxious...but it really was easy! I decided not to make another Christmas card...I think I am about Christmas out.....don't get me wrong...I just needed to use some other colors rather than green and red! I'm sure I will be back in the mood very soon, as I still have projects to complete for Christmas!

So I decided to pull out these really cute stamps from Waltzingmouse, I just love the quaintness of this set! I used PTI designer paper A Men's Life and PTI ink and ribbon. This was a really fun card to make, I hope you stop by Stamps and Smiles and check out the other design team members cards today! They are really super!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamps and Smiles Release Day 4 and new sketch challenge

Happy Thursday! Today is the last day of the releases for Stamps and Smiles new digi release!

Don't forget, tomorrow Friday December 10th from 7pm-8pm CST is the release party and blog hop! It is sure to be a lot of fun!

The last set is called "Wishing you a Toasty Christmas" This set has a lot going on! It has 11 images! So I decided to use only 1 of the images for my sample today.....

I just love this image! I enlarged it quite a bit, colored it with my Copics and then added those cute buttons over the little ornaments to give it a 3-d look. There are a lot of very fun images in this set, with a lot of possibilities!

Now, for the weekly sketch challenge at Stamps and Smiles.....

For my card this week, I wanted to showcase the versatility of the Stamps and Smiles stamps...so I decided to use the little face stamp from the "I love Snow" set...it works perfect on the new snowman from the Snowfriends Cricut cart.

I cut the snowman and his accessories out at 4 inches, then stamped the cute little face and added some ink around the edges. I tore some white paper and added some blue ink around the torn edges and layered to look like a snowy hill. I also punched out some snowflakes with my MS punch and added some MS glitter and a little pearl in the center of each.

I just love this card, and how the little face stamp worked so perfectly on my snowman!!!! I hope Jennifer comes out with some more of those cute little faces for more of my Cricut people!!! (hint, hint)

Please stop by the Stamps and Smiles and check out the other design team members samples today!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!

Now....on to Project Tuesday!!!!

Ok, this was a really fun project to make! I love gift bags, and this one was super easy to put together and really is quite large. I used 12x12 paper instead of the 8 1/2 x 11 paper to make it even bigger....

side view:

I used the Woodlands cart to cut the snowman and the tag on the front of the bag on my Cricut. Instead of using 2 sided paper, I used standard 12x12 cardstock and then layered my designer paper on the front, measuring and cutting the layers just a bit smaller than the actual measurement. I have made a few of these, and will be using them this Christmas!

Please stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other Design team members samples for the project today. Be sure to link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek at your project this week!

Inspirational challenge at the OCC!

Happy Saturday! Wow, what a week! I am soooo glad Saturday is here! The Holidays always bring busy days and evenings for me!

So....the challenge this week at the Our Creative Corner is an inspirational one! The inspiration this week is "The 12 Days of Christmas" song.....so...can you guess which verse I used to my card?

Yep, 2 turtle doves!!!! Well, I didn't have a stamp of turtle doves..this stamp set is the closest I could find! The birds are from PTI as well as the florish stamps. I am in need of a few sympathy cards, so here is one! This is a very basic card, as I really didn't have a lot of time this week. Sometimes, I like the simple cards the best...

Besure to stop by the OCC and check out the other design team members samples today! I wonder which verse they will choose!

Have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday -Easel Card

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today we have a new challenge at Project Tuesday It is an Easel card! I have seen a lot of these lately and we thought we would give it a try....

For this card, I decided to use a really neat technique I recently found on Stamp with Tami. Textured wreath, I didn't have the exact embossing folders Tami shows on her site, but I used what I had and I really like how this turned out! It was a little challenging at first, getting the ink on to the embossed part, but after a little practice it turned out great!

Be sure and stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other design team members samples....and while you are there, play along with us!

Believe Banner

Happy Monday everyone! I have been busy this weekend decorating my home for the Christmas Holiday! I decided this year I would make a banner similar to the one I made for Thanksgiving...this one says "BELIEVE"
For this banner, I used by Gypsy..of course and created a multi-mat file.
The first mat layer has the designer paper tag for the base of the banner. I cut the tag from Gypsy Wanderings at 9.83 x 4.99, I copied 4 of them on the 12x24 mat, then I cut this 2 times with 4 and then 1 time with only 1 on the mat.
The second mat layer has the shadow of the tag for the base. The Gypsy Wandering does not have a shadow feature, so I enlarged the tag to fit for a shadow, the size is 10.43x5.48. I copied this 4 times on the 12x24 mat and then cut it 2 times with 4 and then 1 time with only 1 on the mat.
The 3rd mat layer has the letters for BELIEVE, using the Storybook font cut at 3.96x4.99.
The 4th mat layer has the shadow feature for the letter using the Storybook font cut at 4.19x4.99
The 5th mat layer has the Deer and the Oval. The Deer are from the WinterWoodland cart, I flipped the image so the deer would be looking different ways on the banner. I cut the Deer at 4.24x5.66. The shadow of the Deer is also on this mat, also flipped. Then I added an Oval from the Gypsy Wandering cart and cut it at 8.00x4.34, I copied this one also, so I had a total of 2 on the 12x24 mat.
The 6th mat layer has the Holly leaves from the Stretch Your Imagination cart, cut at 3.44x2.00, I copied so that I had 8 on the mat, and then used the shadow feature and copied the same amount so both the pieces are on this the 12x24 mat
For the final layer, I add the Holly centers, I copied so I had 8 of those also.

I put all the pieces together for each tag, and then punched holes on the top of each tag and tied them together with ribbon. For the Holly leaves, I wanted to add some "bling" to those, so I added MS glitter in red to each of the berry centers. I then punched a hole in the top of the holly leaves and tied them to the ribbon between each letter.

This really turned out beautiful, the pictures really don't do it justice!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Thankful Banner

Hi everyone! Well, its the week of Thanksgiving and I thought I better start my decorating! We are having a house full on Thursday, so I wanted to get something up....

I saw a beautiful Autumn banner on the Cricut MB a few weeks ago, and took a mental note to make one for my living room. I'm sorry, I don't know who posted it..I tried to find it again and couldn't so if you know who it was, please let me know so I can give them credit!

So...

This is what I came up with!

For this banner, I used my Gypsy (of course) and used a cut from WinterWonderland cart for the banner base. I cut it at 8.19 height and 5.18 width. I used the mat feature on the Gypsy, so on page 1 of the mat, I copied the banner base 3 times to make 4 on a 12x24 mat. Then to make the shadow, I created another mat, copied the banner base to the 2nd mat and started enlarging to create a shadow. I ended up with a size of 8.53 height and 5.60 width, and cut 4 on the 12x24 mat also.

For the letters, I used Storybook cart and cut both the letter and the shadow of each letter, they were cut at 5.20 height and 3.22 width.

I cut the leaves on the end of the banner from the gypsy wanderings cart, cut at 3.86 height and 3.94 width. The acorn is from the Doodlecharms cart cut at 4.29 height and 5.12 width. The leaves in between each banner base is also from the Doodlecharmes cart cut at 2 inches.

I took the letters and stamped a flourish on each letter using my glue pad and added some MS glitter to brighten them up! I then layered them together and applied to the banner base.

I punched holes on the upper portion of each side of the banner base and tied a ribbon to each to bring them together. On each ribbon, I added the little leaves that I had distressed with brown ink. I also distressed the leave and acorn on the end of the banner.

Well, I'm off to more decorating! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

New Challenge at the OCC!

Happy Saturday everyone!!!! Today there is a new challenge over at the OCC
The challenge was to use the colors Chocolate chip, Pumpkin pie, Close to Cocoa and White....

I really need some birthday cards!!!! So I decided to make a "manly" card this time....using the PTI's Star Prints stamps and SU Designer Paper. I stamped the stars randomly on the circle that I cut using my Nestabilities and then stamped the entire star on another piece of cardstock and punched using my SU star punch and added with dimensionals over the previously stamped start on the circle.

Please stop by the OCC today and check out the other Design Team members samples, they are really awesome!

Stamps and Smiles

Hi everyone! Today we have a new challenge at Stamps and Smiles

For my card this week, I am using PTI Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base. I stamped those sweet little trees from the new fall stamp release at Stamps and Smiles and added some "snow" on the trees. This "snow" is a liquid applique, when you heat it up with your heat gun it fluffs up like snow...I don't think the picture shows how cute it is...I also did a little creative paper layering on the bottom. I randomly cut 3 pieces of designer paper at different levels and applied to the card by sewing.

Please be sure to stop by the Stamps and Smiles site and check out the other DT samples for the week! They are super!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Project Tuesday - Peek a Boo Box

Happy Tuesday! This week's project at Project Tuesday is a Peek a Boo Box!

This is a sweet little box!

I decided to use my Cricut to cut out the flowers, I used the Walk in my Garden cart for the flowers and leaves. I cut each flower a little smaller than the previous cut to layer the flower.

I think this would make a cute little favor box for a baby shower or bridal shower.

Make sure you jump on over to Project Tuesday and check out the other DT samples, and while you are there, link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek.

New Challenge at the OCC!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today's challenge over at Our Creative Corner is an inspirational challenge!

For my card this week, I used my Gypsy to design a pumpkin card! with the new update out from Provo Craft for the gypsy I am now able to flip and weld a design together, so we can make shape card! I use the pumpkin from the Gypsy Wanderings that comes loaded on the Gypsy and used the blackout feature for the pumpkin. The pumpkin is cut at 4 1/4.

For the image, I use the new "digi" image from Stamps and Smiles. I just love their digi images...for this one I sized it way down to fit on the front of the pumpkin. I colored the cute scarecrow and pumpkins with Copics and add stitching around the designer paper. The cardstock I used is from SU Pumpkin Pie and the ribbon and buttons are from PTI.

The challenge is to use your Gypsy Wanderings cart that came loaded on the Gypsy and create a project!

Oh, this was fun....

For my card, I used a card template from the Wild Card cart, and then I selected that really cute pumpkin border from Gypsy Wanderings. I decided to weld the pumpkin border to the card template.

I cut the card and the shadow pumpkin border welded together on PTI's Dark Chocolate cardstock. I then cut the pumpkin boarder on SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

I decided to add MS glitter to the pumpkin boarder, using the new technique I picked up over at the Craft Junkie Too' site. I just love how the glitter sticks to the pumpkins! I then cut the scallop frame from Storybook cart and the oval too! I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Fall Harvest set and added some buttons and ribbon.

If you have a Gypsy and would like to play along, jump on over to their site. I would love to see all the other projects/cards created!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Triangle Box - Project Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I sure hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! We sure did here, the sun finally came out yesterday and lifted my spirits for sure!

Well, today over at Project Tuesday we are being challenged to create a Triangle box. This little box is so darn cute!

For my box, I used some designer cardstock from Making Memories and the stamps are from PTI Fall Elegance. You will also notice those beautiful glittery (is that a word?) leaves! I cut those out on my Cricut using A Childs Year cart. I then used MS glitter and applied the glitter using a new technique I just found out about this weekend when I attended the Craft Junkie Too Booo-log party.
If you haven't had a chance to go to the Craft Junkie Too's site, you might take a trip over there..she has some really good videos!
Here is the side view of my triangle box:

I think I am going to make a few more of these and use them on Thanksgiving Day. I think I will place each box on a placesetting with a little homemade treat inside.

So, if you would like to play along with us this week, and make a triangle box, be sure to jump on over to Project Tuesday and you will find the directions and some samples from the other awesome design team members! And don't forget to link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek at what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!
