Project Tuesday - Altered Picture Frame

Hi Crafters! It's project Tuesday time...and today we have a really FUN project! An altered picture frame! I have really wanted to make one of these for quite some time, but I just haven't had the time! So when it was my turn to pick the projects for the month, I made sure to include this one....

My oldest daughter is expecting her 3rd son this June, and she is doing the baby's room in a Jungle theme...so I needed to get started on some items to add to the room and this picture frame just fit perfectly!

I just recently purchased the Animal Kingdom cart for my Cricut and decided to give it a whirl on this project!

I just LOVE how this turned out!

For directions on altering the picture frame, head on over to Project Tuesday and you will find the directions.

For my frame, I made the following cuts on my Cricut using the Animal Kingdom cart:

Elephant cut at 4 inches

Monkey cut at 3 inches

Giraffe cut at 6 inches

Tree is from the "Life's a Beach" cart cut at 6 inches

I cut all the animals and the tree from cereal boxes (chipboard) first using the blackout feature.

Then I cut each animal using the normal cut and also cut one on the blackout feature, flipped (to cover the back of the chipboard, since some of the animals hang over the side)

I then chalked up each image, layered, adhered to chipboard and coated each one in Modge Podge to give it some shine and strength and to also match the picture frame which is also covered in Modge Podge.

I adhered each animal to the frame using Scotch quick dry glue.

Thanks for looking and if you have time, hop on over to Project Tuesday and check out the other Design Team members frames! They are Super!!!!

Have a wonderful day!

Just Because card

Hi Crafters! Here is another card I made using my new "Just Because" cart.

I also used my Gypsy on this card. After watching a video from Emma on how to add a cutout to a card using the Gyspy, I decided this was very interesting and I wanted to give it a try.

It was really quite simple, I plan to put a video together on it sometime this weekend...so keep an eye out for that post.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Project Tuesday - Flower Pot Card

Happy Tuesday! Today at Project Tuesday we have a really fun project!

I saw this on Splitcoast stampers a while back, and I have been meaning to make this type of card.....well, now that I have...I just LOVE it! It really put me in the Spring mood!

For my card, I am using Terracotta Tile cardstock from PTI, I used a new embossing folder for my cuttlebug, I am sorry I don't have the name...I wish they would put the name on the folder, once I throw away the packaging, I don't remember. I cut my flowers out with my Cricut, of course, using the Forever Young Cart and Designer paper from SU.

This was such a fun card to make, I plan on making several more for my daughters for Mothers Day.

Please besure to stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other Design Team members blogs, they have some really cute samples of this project for you!

Also, I hope to post a new video later today, as I received my new "Just Because" cart for my Cricut and I have been making some cards.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Jennifer Meyer

Also, here are a few more samples from the release this week.....

For this card, I took the one of the egg images from "Special Delivery" and imported it into "Make the Cut" software, so I could cut it out on my Cricut! I LOVE how this turned out!

For this project, I used a free SVG file I found on the internet and made it look like a carrot! I really like this one too!

This cute little basket is from the "Easter 2010" cartridge, I cut it on my Gypsy and then made the layers using the Gypsy wandering cartridge and enlarged each piece to fit. Isn't that little bunny so cute on the front of this basket! I can't wait to fill it up with goodies to give to one of my grandchildren...oh my, I better get busy and make 3 more...I can't just give this to one of them!

For my last project, I wanted to make a mini album for my easter pictures I take this year, so this was the perfect image for the cover!

For the inside, I used the "Easter 2010" cartridge again and cut the eggs and the grass large enough to fit on the inside of the album. By the way, this is an envelope album...If any one is interested I can put together a tutorial on how I made this...it was super easy!

Ok, off to the Blog Hop.....

SAS Blog Hop - Tonight 8PM CST

Please join us tonight at 8PM CST for our Blog Hop! Hopefully the Easter Bunny will hop by and leave some fun goodies! See you tonight!

Last Day for Sneak Peeks Easter Digi's and OCC sketch challenge

Hi everyone! Today is the last day for the Sneak peeks of the Easter digi's at SAS!

Today the image is "Hoppy Easter"

Here is my card today!
For my card, I used the Easter 2010 cartridge and cut the zigzag circle in 4 different sizes. The largest cut I used by Gypsy to weld the 2 images together to make a card. The last cut with the digi image printed on it, I did with the Center Point function! I just love that function on the Cricut!
I colored this sweet little bunny with my copics and added a little stickles to the egg for some sparkle.
Please make sure you stop by the SAS site and check out the other Design Team's samples! They are great! And don't forget about the Blob Hop tomorrow night, please join us from 8-9 pm CST.
Now, for the sketch challenge at the
For my card, I put the sketch on its side and decided to do the focal point as a flower, which I cut from my Cricut using the Forever Young cart. I cut the flower in 5 different sizes, going down 1/4 inch with each cut. I then added some chalk around the edges, and rolled the flower cuts around a pencil to give some dimension. The leaves are cut from the Gypsy wanderings cart included on the Gypsy.
Please stop by the OCC blog and check out the other Design Team members cards, they are really cute this week!
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

My sample using this new image...

Isn't this little chocolate bunny cute! I am using PTI cardstock and designer paper for my card.

Please stop by the SAS Blog and check out the Design Team members samples!!!

Now, on to the Project Tuesday!

This week at Project Tuesday there is a new challenge! A Tri-Fold Card.....

For my card, I decided to make it a tea holder to send to a friend. I am using Bazzel cardstock and a new stamp I purchased at a lss.

For the closure, I decide to make a belly band instead of using a ribbon. I also added some prima flowers and added some distressed stickles to the flower, but I don't think you can see that very well on the picture.

This was a fun card to make, I could also see this as a mini album, as there are a lot of flaps that could be used as photo mats.

Please stop by the Project Tuesday Blog and check out the other DT members samples! They are really awesome!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Project Tuesday - Bird House

Hi ladies! Check out the project this week at Project Tuesday!

Isn't this just the cutest bird house ever! You can find the template link over at Project Tuesday.

For my birdhouse, I used some new paper by GCD, the Homespun Chick Collection. I really love this paper, it reminds me of fabric.

The little birds are from PTI stamp set Bird Watching, I inked them up in PTI Pure Poppy and Hibiscus Burst, and added a little black rhinestone for their eye.

The ribbon is also from PTI and the ribbon rose, I made myself! After watching the great video from Lorraine. It was a little harder than Lorraine made it look..but I did it!

I added a little tag on the side of the bird house, using PTI stamp set Tags for Spring for the butterfly.

Make sure you stop by Project Tuesday this week and check out the other design team members samples, and while you are there, play along!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
