New Arrival gift bag

Hi ladies! I hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations from the New Arrival cartridge. This is the last project I will be working on from that cartridge...even though I have a lot more work to do on the baby shower, and I will post those items when I have them complete, I wanted to get this baby gift bag posted so we could move on to another cartridge.

For this gift bag, I used my gypsy and my 12x24 mat. I purchased blue poster board at HL and cut it down to 12x24 to fit on the mat. I cut the bag from Tags, Bags and More, at the largest size I could fit on the 12x24 mat and decided to add a really cute scallop border on top of the bag after watching Tuesday Treats this past week, where they featured this bag in a smaller size with the border added on top. If you get a chance, pop on over to Tuesday Treats (link on my side bar) and check out the tutorial for this.

For the booties on the bag, they were cut from the left over poster board at 4.60x 4.02. I cut them out twice and then cut the 2nd set apart to use as a layer over the first set. I don't know if you can see but the one on the left is popped up a bit by pop dots. I then cut the set out again in yellow and cut off the bow to layer on the first set. I also added some yellow paper behind the booties to highlight the stitching. I added some chalk for shadow, and of course the white gel pen for accent.

For the gift tag, I cut the tag from Sweet Treats, and I didn't write down the size.. sorry. The words For You are from the Wild Cart cart and again, I didn't write down the size..I was in a hurry.

For the boarder on the bottom, just a few pieces of left over cardstock and poster board and used my MS border punch on the bottom.

I have enjoyed making these items and hope you have enjoyed looking at them. I have also learned alot these past few weeks on using my flip video.

I haven't decided on the next cartridge I will explore, but will let you all know soon. I have been very busy lately and hopefully things will slow down next week and I can decide.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Sunday!

New Sketch Challenge - OCC Sketch Challenge Blog

Hi Ladies, today over at OCC Sketch Challenge Blog we have a new sketch this week.

Here is my sample for the challenge.

For my card, I started with PTI cardstock and stamped the super large medallion from SU! I really love this stamp..I haven't used it very often, so I think I will try to start using it. I then stamped the Thank you stamp from a SU set also. I inked the edges using Ranger distress ink to make it look a little aged. I then added some of the same distress ink to the flower and added some distressed hard rock candy stickles for a little sparkle. For the ribbon, again I added the distress ink and then to finish off the card, I stamped the bird from another SU set and added the distressed stickles to it for a little sparkle.

I don't do vintage cards very often, I just love them, but I don't think I am very good at creating them...but I am pleased with this one.

Please stop by the OCC sketch challenge blog and check out the other Design Team members samples, and if you would like to play along we would love for you to!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

First Video! New Arrival Cartridge

Hi Ladies! Well, I finally went and did it! Created a video that is! My wonderful DH gave me a flip video for Christmas and I have been a little nervous about using it....so I decided I had a day off...it snowed last night..so I couldn't get out of the house...so I would try creating a video.

I have wanted to start exploring all the cartridges I have purchased over the past few months and thought some of you may want to join me. So today I started with New Arrival. I hope to make a few cards or projects using each cartridge. I don't know how frequently I will get a chance to post a new video, but I am not going to make any requirements on my self...I just want to explore and have fun.
So....here is the first card I made using New Arrival. It is a Baby Shower Invitation. My daughter is expecting her 3rd boy in June and her new in-laws want to throw her a baby shower, so I will be making the invitations. I saw this cute little diaper bag in the handbook, and thought it would make a really cute invitation...so here is the video on how I made it.

I hope you enjoy and please leave a comment, I am looking for some advice on my videos, I would like to make them a little better...

2nd Post Today - Card using Sweet Treats

Well, I really wanted to get this card posted today, before the weekend hits...I will be super busy and won't have any time to play in my craft room....so last night I spent the evening playing around on my Gypsy and came up with this simple card....using Sweet Treats cart...

I cut the card base using SU Chocolate Chip cardstock cutting the cards feature on page 67. I cut the layer piece from the same page using the shift/cards feature. I cut the layer on BoBunny cardstock. For the Scallop cut on PTI Green Leaf, I used the cut on page 53 using the shift/blackout feature. The circle I cut on the same page using the layers feature, since I am using my Gypsy, I was able to make a shadow for the circle by enlarging the circle a bit.

I stamped the center imaged using a new stamp set I just picked up from Inkadinkado, Just Saying set.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

PTI ink resist challenge!

Happy Friday everyone! Finally!!!! Well, if you are a PTIfollower, you know they are having their 3rd anniversary this month and WOW are they doing up the celebrations!

Today Nicole posted a "ink resist" challenge...so here's what I came up with! Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week, so I decided to try this technique using the PTI With Sympathy set.

I cut the card base out of PTI Ocean Tide cardstock, which I cut out on my Cricut using A Child's Year cartridge, the card feature on page 75 and the layer is on page 73 using the shift/card feature. I cut this layer on Summer Sunset PTI cardstock. The ovals are also cut from A Child's Year ( I jammed up my Big Shot last night...so I won't be able to use my Nesties!!!, good thing I have my Cricut!) the oval is on page 50. I did use my Gypsy for this card, so I was able to make the oval the exact size I needed, then I created a shadow for it, by enlarging it just a bit.

I did the "ink resist" technique on the flowers on the smallest oval, I hope you can see those....this is the first time I have tried this technique...and I will be using it again. I like the effect.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Stamps and Smiles - new sketch

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope your week is going well!

This week at Stamps and Smiles we have a new sketch challenge!

For my card, I used my new Valentine paper from K&Company....I just fell in love with this paper! I layered several different designs from the paper pack and used my MS punch for the border. For those cute little hearts, I used the hearts from the last digi release at Stamps and Smiles from "Be my Valentine - Cuppy". I edited the hearts a bit, removed the words on the inside and skewed them up a bit to give them a funky look. I printed them onto colored cardstock and embossed them with the swiss dots embossing folder.

Be sure and stop by Stamps and Smiles today and check out the other design team members cards, they are really cute!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

2nd post today -scroll down for Project Tuesday

Hi everyone...I have been so busy these past few weeks, that I haven't had a chance to post some of the really cute projects I have been working on!

The first one up is a Valentine box. I follow Kathy's site Paper Phenomenon, she has some really super videos! and she recently posted how to make this really cute Valentine box!
I used the Cricut Love Stuck Mini Cartridge for this box. I cut the 2nd heart on the keypad at 5 inches on red cardstock. I then sprayed the cut on the front with spray adhesive and covered it with MS red Flocking...I just love this technique I cut the blackout piece in White and then cut another black out in red for the bottom of the box.
Take a peek at Kathy's video, she shows you exactly how to make the sides of the box....I cut the word Sweetie from the same cart at 1 1/2 inches...I first tried the making it at 3 inches...and wow, it turned out huge! So you have to play around with it to make it fit. I then sprayed the word with spray glue and covered it with MS white fine glitter, to make it shine! I added a bow and the box was complete..

I am giving this to my husband for Valentines day, he and I are on WW's losing weight and I wanted to give him a special treat for Valentines day....the WW candies!

Now, on to the next project....

My oldest daughter is expecting her 3rd son in June...so I wanted to create a special little brag book to keep in my purse to show him off when he arrives....so again, after watching a video on Kathy's site (link above) I made this super cute little album...

Kathy shows you how to take a premade standard mini album, remove the inside pages of the album and replace those with a paper bag album. This is such a fun idea! When I saw this, I knew immediately, this was the type of album I was looking for!

I used New Arrival cart for most of the cuts in this album. Each page has a place for tags which can be used for journaling or additional pictures. I have yet to embellish the front of the album yet...I will do that soon...but I wanted to show you all the really cute stuff Kathy has on her site.
That's it for now..I will post some more later....thanks for looking!

Project Tuesday - CD holder

Happy Tuesday everyone! We have a new project at Project Tuesday! This week we are making a really fun CD holder! I just love this project!

I like to take my pictures from a particular event, copy them onto a CD and give to some of the family members that attended the event or vacation with us! That way everyone has the fun memories.

When I saw this project, I thought it would be perfect! I will definitely be making more of these for future gifts with my picture CD's.

For my CD holder cover, I decided to try out this new item I purchased from my LSS. It is a piercing template from Bazzill. I love how it turned out. You just lay the template down on your paper, use your paper piercing tool and punch holes into your paper and then using embroidery floss, sew into the holes. I can't wait to try this on a scrapbook page!

Be sure to stop by Project Tuesday and check out the other Design Team members samples this week! They are really super, and while you are there, please link up your project to Mr. Linky so we can all take a peek!

Thanks for looking and have a super day!
